Impact of Philanthropic Support
The generous gifts from alumni and friends transform the lives of our students, staff and local communities, and the impact is far greater than their financial value.
Thanks to donor support, we awarded over 拢300,000 during 2024/2025, which supported everything from scholarships to research projects, paid internships to outreach activities.
Here are some of the ways philanthropic donations made a difference during 2024/2025
- 127 students received over 拢220,000 in direct support
- 2 fully-funded PhD studentships in health sciences
- 1 full-time staff member funded
- 29 students completed paid internships with local enterprises
- Almost 拢40,000 awarded to 32 students in bursaries, prizes and scholarships
- Three shows received support to perform at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival
- 9 business start-ups supported with 拢15000
- 30 student-led research, study and volunteering projects realised with 拢16,000
- 15 students received a total of 拢36,000 in travel grants
- 11 semester exchanges in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand, USA made possible
- Five students supported to learn an additional language
- Two students undertook 20-week paid internships in USA
